Your Journey With Us...

  • Before your first appointment with us, you can expect a quick "warm call".
  • You will have your first appointment (see letter for date and time) with one of our experienced caseworkers consisting of a one-to-one meeting to get things up and running
  • We'll take the time to discuss your circumstances, ambitions and personal job goals
  • Together, we'll review your CV and past experience
  • We will then arrange for you to meet our Employer Services team to learn about our 700+ live roles and our relationships with local and national employers
  • You'll get an overview of our range of services including training, online webinars, peer groups, information sessions and our digital technology
  • You'll also get the chance to view our facilities, including our PC banks, which are available for you to drop-in and use outside appointment times

The Range of Services Available through NES

As part of the National Employment Service, Turas Nua will provide you with access to a range of different supports, all designed to give you the best chance of success.

  • We'll help you to:

    • Find available jobs that interest you
    • Look for the right information to help you find work
    • Develop your CV and interview techniques
    • Update and improve your skills and qualifications
    • Plan your career path once you’re in work
    • Source relevant training and/or education
  • You will be provided with access to:

    • in-house and local external resources to support you throughout your journey with us
    • work experience opportunities
    • external trainers such as the local ETBs, who can help you achieve skills and certifications for work
    • other external specialists can assist in tackling barriers limiting your job-readiness
  • Our self-employment support manager will:

    • assist you if seeking self-employment or growing your part-time self-employment
    • provide coaching and support to help you build business plans
    • identify available supports, such as Back to Work or Short-Term Enterprise Allowance
    • deliver self-employment training including, financial planning, managing tax, networking and marketing
    • network with external stakeholders to support you if self-employed 
  • Before you start work, we will support you in:

    • setting up your MyGovID account to close your job seeker claim, register your new job and avoid paying emergency tax on your first wage package
    • getting ready and organised for your new job
    • budgeting and checking your eligibility for in-work social welfare supports
    • planning a preferred frequency, time and method of contact for in-employment support
    • confirming your new job start details such as start date, anticipated weekly hours etc
  • Once you start work, we will assist you with:

    • additional training courses and ongoing personal development
    • CV refreshing
    • interview preparation
    • continued access to our online portal, TNConnect
    • continued support for the first 12 months of employment, with a first call within 5 working days

  • Where can I find directions to an office?

    Each of our local offices can be easily located on our Locations page. We've included a useful map and an office directory. 

  • Why have I been referred to Turas Nua (NES)?

    We deliver the National Employment Service on behalf of the Department of Social Protection in the Southern counties of Ireland. The National Employment Service is an employment activation scheme that supports jobseekers in securing and sustaining full-time paid employment.

  • Can I reschedule my appointment?

    No problem! Please contact your caseworker directly to discuss rescheduling options that work best for you.

  • How do I contact my caseworker?

    If you do not have the direct number to your caseworker, you can contact our Customer Contact Centre on Freephone 1800 936 637 or email hello@turasnua.ie. You can also ask your caseworker for their direct number at your next appointment.

  • When is my next appointment?

    You can view your upcoming appointments through your TNConnect login. If you do not have a login for TNConnect, ask your caseworker to set you up. In the meantime, you can contact your caseworker directly, call our Customer Contact Centre on Freephone 1800 936 637, or email hello@turasnua.ie.

  • What training do you offer?

    We have in-house training courses with our Client Training Specialists who offer both face-to-face courses and daily online webinars.

  • I am self-employed – what can you do for me?

    We offer a specialised journey tailored for clients planning to become self-employed or who already have their business up and running. Our services include dedicated webinars and resources to support you in your business.
